What Information Do We Collect?
Information You Provide Us
We enable you to contact us via our Platform, and we may provide links to contact us via email. You may contact us to ask questions, provide feedback, or to apply for a job. Please do not, however, submit any personal information or other information you consider to be confidential or sensitive. Information which you voluntarily elect to share in publicly visible areas of the site is considered to be public, even if it would otherwise be considered to be personally identifying or sensitive. As such, we don’t control divulging this, you do.
Information Collected Through Technology
We collect and maintain certain information using automated means, such as cookies, web beacons and similar technologies. A cookie is a text file websites send to a user’s computer or other internet-connected device to uniquely identify the device and browser or to store information or settings in a browser. A web beacon, also known as an internet tag or pixel tag, links web pages to web servers and their cookies and may be used to transmit information collected through cookies back to a web server. The information we collect in this manner relates to your use of the Platform and the randrr web pages you access; this includes your IP address, geographic insights, browser and device type, operating system, referring URLs, and dates and times of site visits.
Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but browser settings can be changed to prevent these cookies from collecting information. Disabling cookies doesn’t necessarily disable the use of pixel tags, web beacons, or other technologies that collect information.
You may be able to opt out of other third-party advertiser and ad network placement of Cookies or targeted advertising by visiting the following links: Network Advertising Initiative, Digital Advertising Alliance; European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance (for users in the EU); The Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada (for users in Canada); or by following opt-out instructions of the advertising networks, analytics providers and other advertising third parties directly. You will continue to receive generic ads by companies not listed with these opt-out tools.
California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits randrr users who are California residents to request and obtain from us a list of what personal information (if any) we disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes in the preceding calendar year and the names and addresses of those third parties. Requests may be made only once a year and are free of charge.
How Do We Use the Information We Collect?
Our primary use of your information is to give you personalized career information, including career advice and coaching, relevant job opportunities, marketability scoring and salary comparisons. We use the information we collect to provide our product to you and make it better, develop new offerings and to protect randrr and our users.
Additionally, we use the information you provide us and the information we collect from you for the following purposes:
- Creating and managing your user account and preferences;
- Sending you e-mail or SMS text messages for registration or login to the Platform
- Communicating account or service changes, or new policies, via email, phone, SMS text message or Mobile Push Notification
- Responding to and communicating with you about your questions and comments
- Operating, evaluating, and improving the Platform to optimize your user experience
- Sending you news and updates about the Platform
- Providing aggregated, non-personally identifying data analytics to job seekers and employers (e.g., aggregating salary data to provide the average salary in each market)
- Email campaigning for email open-tracking analytics
- Uploading a resume
- Completing a form or answering questions relating to our product and services
- Providing you with personalized content and services
- Fighting spam and other abuse; and
- Complying with applicable legal requirements, relevant industry standards, and our policies
randrr owns all the information we collect from you via technology, including information collected via cookies, web beacons and similar automated means. We may use such information for any purpose whatsoever in connection with our business. With respect to information you voluntarily provide, we may use such information for any purpose in connection with our business provided that we remove any personally identifiable information. We won’t publicly disclose your personally identifiable information.
With Whom Do We Share the Information?
Compliance with Law and Safety
We will disclose the information we collect if we reasonably believe we are required to do so by law or government authority, or to protect the rights and property of randrr, its affiliates, or the public. We may also cooperate with law enforcement agencies in any official investigation and we may disclose information to the relevant agency in doing so.
We reserve the right to share information in connection with any corporate transaction, including any merger, consolidation, restructuring, the sale of stock, assets or both, or other corporate change or financing transaction, including whether made during the course of any due diligence process or otherwise.
Data Storage and Security
Information security is important to us. We use encryption (HTTPS) to protect data transmitted to and from our platform. The security of your information depends on your protection of your account information. Please do not disclose your user IDs or passwords to unauthorized people. Although we take reasonable precautions to protect your information, no website or internet transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, hacking, data loss, or other breaches will never occur. You use the Platform at your own risk, and you’re responsible for taking reasonable measures to secure your account, email accounts, and mobile devices that may allow user access to your randrr account. Content can be uploaded to the randrr platform by 3rd parties and individual users.
